DTN COMMENTS:  More bids are now on the table in the North. A little 
light trade has been reignited in parts of Kansas and Texas at mostly 
steady money with yesterday's business. Asking prices are around $295 in 
the North, and $184-plus in the South. On Wednesday a light trade was 
reported in parts of the South at $182, fully steady with the prior 
week's weighted averages, while the North remained very quiet. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 297.42 +1.68, select 290.00 -
0.42) with light to moderate box movement (35.93 lds of choice cuts, 8.94 
lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 12.00 lds of ground). Cattle 
futures at midday are modestly to mostly moderately higher on both live 
and feeder issues.
